  Should I start posting dating tips?

  many of us came out of the jws with very little dating experience under our belts (married or not), and a lot of us were very lost when it came to the opposite sex.

  the wts didn't help us learn how to pick a woman, how to court her, or even how to have sex with her.

  there's a lot of horror stories about first jw sexual encounters, and a lot of horror stories about dating after leaving the org.. i made it a goal to catch up on my dating experience after i deprogrammed myself, and i learned a lot about the competitive and tricky dating world.

  How many studies were started????

  i was thinking last night of alot of the bs i've heard from the platform over the years and i thought of a real doosie and figured i'd post it for you all.

  we had our co visit a few months ago.

  in his opening talk he was encouraging the stepford congregation by regailing us with experiences from his visit with our sister congregation the week prior.

  Life after the dubs

  over the weekend my journey to recover and find a life outside the wts continued rather well.

  although my saturday started with me feeling a bit lonely and down, i saw the guy over the road from me was outside, whom i have recently befriended.

  i walked over and saw him working on his car, as a mechanic myself i talked with him about what he was doing and he explained he'd had an accident which had damaged the suspension and was trying to sort it, in the end myself and another guy he and i know worked on it till dark.

This other guy that turned up asked if we wanted to go and get his engine working on his boat and so we went down to the coast (Ramsgate - for those who know it) and ended up having a lads night out and it was such great fun. Although its was very cold and dark, and I had my first cold of the season, it was really good being involved with other people having fun. Just thought i'd share with you, and say that life seems to pass out opportunity's, its up to us to take them.

  Glad your feeling better, and thanks for (as one poster put it so well) 'trudging' through the watchtower. The bit that gets me is where the great crowd are supposed to display the fruitage of the spirit when they dont have it??? The way its written is to keep adding to things gone before which has now established it as 'truth' and 'fact' when in reality no such proofs are found therein. Its all set up perfectly to promote obedience to the Governing body with the faintest wiff of being anyway scriptural.

  JW says the end of religion is beginning to happen!

  when talking to my jw friend.... she asked me if i had seen the news about businesses now not putting up xmas deco's etc.

  this is so as not to offend people of other religions ie jw's and muslims etc.. she said this is going to lead to (a start of) the banning of all religions worldwide!?.

  i said i think it shows more tolerance and respect for other religions.... that is not how she sees it (or any other jw's that have been discussing it).. what are your thoughts on this.

  The SUN newspaper here in the UK ran a front page article about the rediculous situation of geting rid of xmas decorations, interestingly it also noted that Rudolf the red nose raindeer was an ad campaign in the 40's and has become part of xmas. So these things are always evolving, so it doesnt mean the end of religion at all.

  What effect does 'Apostate Pressure' have on the bOrg?

  will increased pressure - pickets, websites, books, letters to fellow witnesses, have a positive or negative impact on the ultimate goal most apostates have - seeing the organization eventually crumble and fall?.

  my take is that more pressure is good.

  it makes the 'real personality' of the organization express itself in greater oppression, more demands, greater efforts to isolate the flock from education, career, family, reality.. eventual result of oppression is rebellion.

  I wouldnt so much say its pressure but presence, we are here and are staying, so there is somewhere people can look at both sides of it - whether interested or long time members. Most of us dont tend to go on the offensive, but we still contribute. This site is just one of many examples of where we help, additionally when speaking to people I guess we give an anti witness, based on our experiences, which in turn spreads the word.

  SHOULDN'T THE GREAT TRIBULATION HAVE STARTED?

  um, wasn't the "special tract" that was being placed in october and november suppose to cause great outrage amongst false religion, in particular the catholic church?

  weren't theys supposed to demand that the government ban jehovah's witnesses?

  surely something would have been written in the newspapers or be on cnn about all the governments of the world going ahead and banning all religions, or did i blink and miss that?

  I'm sure the R&F are just happy that the campaign is over and done with and that they are not being persecuted - really how many Jw's (unless fanatical) wanted this life to end, much less by being turned on by the governments and being banned/imprisoned/beaten up/killed/separated from loved ones etc etc.

  What the hell are they thinking?

  a couple of threads about recent watchtower articles as made me wonder what they're thinking when they are writing them for a magazine that is supposed to be for preaching purposes.

  i tried to put myself in the mind of somebody that didn't know much about jehovah's witnesses.

  the stuff on weddings would have been weird at best, and the recent articles aimed at parents whose children leave the wt must strike normal people as down right creepy.

  Its so true - when I was a JW i'd be embarresed to admit certain things to people, because in all honesty it didnt make sense to me when I was saying it to 'worldy' people. Once back in the box (among fellow JW's - it all made sense again). Now i've left all that I am happy to tell people about that past, because I can now agree that it was so much BS.

  Thanks Blondie!

  That made me so nauseous when i read it . I said to my ex about last weeks study and she said its just common sense, so why do they need to go into such micro detail about all aspects? Can the so called christians not decide for themselves without being coached by the 'FDS'? How can you make such commands of men, when there is no biblical precedent? Obviously we know the reasons here, and this is an area that started to grate on me when I was attending, all it does is drive you mad to do as your told, and not as you see fit. The men at the top really dont trust their slaves fellow brothers do they!

  they're facing dwindling numbers in the industrialized nations, a growing number of child abuse lawsuits, a pedophile database of over 23,000 members just waiting to be exposed, and what do they have on the front page of their website?

  Great topic! They are so obsessed with sex! Its no wonder jw's have tried just about everything they condemned as its been so talked about, you cant help but be curious about it! Anyway cant stop i'm on the phone!
